WEEK 23

Reflection And Submission Of this Coursework

This week marks the end of this coursework with a short reflection on the entire coursework that has been carryied out since week 14. This coursework in New Media module was really challenging but also very interesting. I am glad I was able to learn through the process of this course work most especially on how to market using the various social media tools. This course work has improved my knowledge on how to go about internet marketing and producing a promotional package for a product or service. Nonetheless, I still believe I could have improved on the use of effects and the different transitions for a better overall promotional video production. With the use of other studio production Hardware like studio lights, a computer system with large memory which was a huge challenge in rendering my production smoothly I would have been able to produce a better quality advert. I would also have improved in the use of social media tools in product promotion and marketing and also do better on research analysis If given more chance on this course work, I will definitely explore more with the experience I have gathered for better and quality work. WEEK 22

FloriPosh Promotional Video

The task done this week is video pre-production and post-production following the guidelines already specified in the storyboard made last week. During the video shoot, different video shooting techniques was explored and the best practices were adopted. For the promotion of FloriPosh Perfume, two models were used and the location used for the video shoot was the models different houses and jumbo shopping mull.For the video shoot, a Sony DSC-HX100V camera which has a 16.0 Mega pixels. This camera was chosen due to its excellent image delivery and best-in-class 1080p video, along with some added touches including an intuitive focus/ zoom ring and in-built GPS. After capturing the video and all other relevant shots, the next process was to export the video footage to the computer for production. Video editing was possible by using Adobe Premier Pro CS6 and Adobe After Effects CS6. Adobe Premier Pro was mainly used for video trimming, editing and assembling while Adobe After Effects was essential for video transitions, motion graphics and visual effects. Adobe Premier pro and After Effect were used for the video production. The decision to use this software’s was purely based on their functionalities and dynamic availability of effects and video transitions.

WEEK 21

Storyboard for FloriPosh video is created this week

Before a video is created a storyboards is considered, in order to perform certain tasks and make certain decisions appropriately. First, begin by evaluating your screenplay and picturing it in terms of separate shots that can be visually translated into individual storyboard panels. Then you determine what makes up each shot and also which images need to be storyboarded first and which ones fellow. during this process of storyboarding, a clear picture of the location, the location setting, time slot for each shot, How many actors needed in the shot and as well the amount of money needed for a successful shooting of the video. When you set out to make a video, the more planning ahead makes it work the better. Figuring out exactly what will be done during a shoot saves the crew time and labor, and saves the producer from cost overruns and production headaches. i have been able to achieve my storyboard this week.

WEEK 20

Concept For FloriPosh Promotional Poster

This week task is to build a poster. To achieve this, decision was made on the type of camera and graphic design software to be used as well as understanding of the various color combinations to make the poster attractive. Research has been carried out to see how promotional posters look in order to attract customers to buy a product. For the picture selection, A bottle of existing fragrance was snapped on a table which had a green cloth behind it to enable the cropping out of the Bottle easy. A poster of size A4 which is the size of a Bus advert Poster was created.
Tools
Pictures were taken by using a 16.0 megapixels Sony DSC-HX100V camera. This camera was selected because it has a better than average image quality which makes it easier for photo editing. The software used for creating the poster is Adobe Photoshop CS6. Adobe Photoshop CS6 was selected for the design because it has all the necessary tools needed to create a productive poster. Adobe Photoshop CS6 also provide user friendly environment which makes any design task fast and easy to be carried out.

WEEK 19

Social Media Plan For FloriPosh Perfume

This week task is to develop a Social Media Plan on how FloriPosh perfume will be promoted, Social media plan is of significant importance as it allows the use of various means, medium and strategy to advertise a fragrance and create awareness.the following social media website are carefully chosen Facebook, Twitter and YouTube various strategies have been devised to promote FloriPosh perfume through this plan.In addition to that, the different measurement variables depending on the social media tool utilized will be carefully studied for the evaluation of the fragrance. A budget is made concerning the cost for carrying out the promotional package for the product and target audience has been carefully selected. Furthermore, the various social media websites have been chosen to promote FloriPosh perfume. These website have been considered through research to be the most used social media platform on the internet for fragrances promotion. Reasons For My Research And Analyis

Among the existing perfume brand that was researched on the pervious week , Givenchy perfume has been selected for analysis on how social media is used for its promotion. Givenchy perfume has been carefully studied and based on this study it is noted that Facebook, twitter, Google+ and youtube are the social media website used in promoting the product. After knowing these different social media websites, a research has been carried out on the type of posts and how frequent these posts are done, the target audience and interaction with the fans. After intense studied of the contents, information, videos and events that are posted on the various social media websites used by Givenchy, an analysis has been carried out to critically evaluate the activities going on in these social media website. WEEK 17

This week is on my research analysis

For this week a thorough research was carried out on four existing perfume companies
such as Givenchy perfume, Dolce and Gabana perfume, Polo Ralph perfume and Elizabeth Arden perfume to gather ideas on how to go about promoting FloriPosh. After studying these perfume brand carefully, videos advert on how these brand are promoted were researched. Also various posters of these brand were taken into consideration. The information gathered from the various perfume brand is very helpful as this has given a clear direction on how to go about promoting FloriPosh. Now FloriPosh perfume will be promoted following the same techniques and social media strategies used by these existing brand. Ideas have been gathered on the type of social media websites to be used for promoting FloriPosh through this research, Ideas on the type of posters to be created and the type of video advert to be produced have also been gathered from this week research.

The idea behind the name of the fictitious product

there are numerious times when browseing through the items in the store and have set eyes on the particular product which has everything wanted but at the end of the day left the store with another product instead, it is a common phenomenon.they are many reason why consumers may like but not buy the product , for some reason they product may not satisfy their needs, because often times consumers are attracted to the name of the product, container, the shape and even the colors surrounding the product, their buying decisions may also be guided by this reference.some people are very carefully with the name of the product they buy and its meaning. after looking at all these parameters, the name FloriPosh was given to my fictitious product Flori which means Clever mind, A sense of responsibility and an Appreciation of the finer things of life.Posh means the quality state of being elegnant, stylish and upper class. this name was choosen considering all factors in order to keep consumers interested in the product.

WEEK 14

This week a careful research on the type of product to be advertised was carried out.

Following the coursework requirement i took to youtube this week to loot at promotional videos and also research on which product to promote and how best to promote my fictitious product that was not enough as i also find out the best mediuem to advertise the choosen product, this product is choosen base on its irrelevant in every day to day use of humans.smell has been an integral part of evolution and surival of the fittnest for our species in the past.although humans rely less now on smell for survial, a huge importance is still place on smell today for taste,
smell is the only sense that affects the memory and emotion part of the brain, the smell goten from a product will determine if the buyer will continue buying the product or not .humans has placed a huge importance on smell as the fragrance industry is now bigger than ever, perfumes are added to many product as it make human feel good, enjoyment and attracting a partner through use of perfumes.
